My Story
Angela Betancourt is global communications specialist with over ten years of experience developing, managing, and executing comprehensive, multicultural and integrated communication campaigns and strategies within the U.S. and international markets.
Angela works with businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs, and community and government leaders to help them achieve their communication goals. She has experience creating and adapting communication strategies and messaging for a variety of audiences including internal teams, media, government officials, community leaders, non-governmental agencies, ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), and private sector actors.
Angela has worked with brands like American Red Cross, MTV, Super Bowl XLI, Dunkin Donuts, Tourism Board of Nicaragua, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, Renaissance Hotels, and a multiple Grammy award-winning musician to tell strong stories, increase mindshare, and grow market share.
With her deep understanding of media relations, Angela has helped her clients secure features in U.S. media platforms such as Entrepreneur Magazine, New York Post, Inc., Forbes, National Geographic Traveler, Good Morning America, and The Katie Couric Show, as well as hundreds of regional, trade, and international publications.
In 2012, Angela founded AB Public Relations, a consulting practice that specializes in offering strategic communications guidance. During this time, she worked directly with CEOs across a variety of industries.
From 2015 to 2017, Angela served as the communications manager for Sierra Leone Opportunities for Business Action (SOBA), a private sector development program funded by post-Ebola UK Aid. With SOBA, she successfully led the communications strategy for the Sierra Leone Energy Revolution, the country’s first-ever renewable energy conference attended by the President of Sierra Leone and Minister Nick Hurd from the UK. She also led the communications, operations, and implementation strategy for Sierra Leone’s first business publication, Insight Magazine.
Angela holds a Masters Degree in Global Strategic Communications from Georgetown University and a Bachelors degree in Public Relations from Barry University.
